History at Huddersfield
Lindsay Pollick shares her experiences and her enthusiasm.
Huddersfield University was sixth choice on my UCAS form in November 2000, behind courses at Sheffield and elsewhere. I simply hadn’t considered it seriously, despite living on the outskirts of the town. Yet I chose to study there, even though I received offers from several other universities. So what changed my view of Huddersfield and convinced me to go there?
It really boiled down to what I saw at the open day. Websites, prospectuses and the various guides can only tell you so much. By actually visiting, you can get a feel for the place, learn more about the course content and, more importantly, meet the staff. Only then can you make an informed decision – it’s a bit like buying your first home, it feels right.
