Sitting-room Cecil B. De Milles, hoping to bring their domestic dramas to a wider audience, should turn their directorial gaze towards London's Museum of the Moving Image. On the 17th of this month MOMI is holding the third of its annual one day exhibitions: 'Celebrating Home Movies'. As the title suggests, this event, held at the museum's cinema, aims to show British life and culture since the last war as people actually experienced it and recorded it. Professionally made documentaries serving up slices of life, or the view of the fly-on-the-wall are definitely not allowed.

The museum is only asking donors to loan their films and tapes for the duration of the exhibition, and all material will be returned afterwards. It is important to note that they do not want people to send in videos or Camcorder efforts a la 'You've Been Framed', except where original cine film has been transferred onto tape to make it easier to view or to protect it.
